About Me

Asking for help takes courage. Whether you are facing life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, overwhelming emotions, or relationship concerns, I provide a respectful, authentic space to help you navigate these hurdles. Together, we will focus on building practical skills and fostering personal growth so you can get the most out of your life.

My client-focused approach is based on starting exactly where you are and addressing what you desire to work through. Healing requires trust and authenticity. While I enjoy working with diverse populations, I specialize in working with older adolescents (ages 18+) through adults.

My passion for this field is deeply personal. I grew up in a military family, am a mother and an aunt of active-duty personnel and have had the honor of working directly with the military community for several years.

Education & Background

I began working in the mental health field during my undergraduate studies in Family Life/Child Development Psychology. I later earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Oklahoma. Over my 25-year plus career as an LICSW and LCSW, I have had the pleasure of working both as a clinician and in various levels of management. Driven by a desire to advocate for better community resources, I have collaborated with government, non-profit, and state and local entities to build and support essential community programs.

My Therapeutic Approach

My approach is relational, practical, and collaborative. I aim to provide you with concrete tools to help you feel more in control by addressing both the mind and the body. I tailor treatment to your unique needs using evidence-based practices, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): To identify and reshape unhelpful thought patterns.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills & Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): To build mindfulness and emotional regulation; skills.
  • Solution-Focused Therapy & Systems Theory: To focus on practical goals and understand how your environment impacts your well-being.

I value honest, authentic communication within a nonjudgmental environment. I am dedicated to guiding you toward greater self-awareness, while gently challenging you when needed.

What to Expect

I see therapy as a true partnership. Guided by empathy, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous learning, I believe deeply in each person's capacity to grow, heal, and create meaningful change. Throughout our journey, we will continually adapt your treatment plan to best support your evolving needs.

Our first session will focus on building comfort and rapport. We will review confidentiality, discuss your rights and history, and explore what brings you to therapy. Treat this meeting as a low-pressure introduction—you control what you share, and it is completely fine to say, “I’m not ready to talk about that yet.”
