Aurora’s approach to healing is holistic; integrating mind, body and spirit. She supports an individual in finding their inner truth; moving into self-awareness, acceptance and towards self-care. Aurora has worked with individuals and groups dealing with mental health issues arising from chronic pain and illness, grief and loss, life transitions. Her compassionate, patient-centered approach entails active listening, assisting individuals in articulating their needs, helping clients to feel more confident and supported throughout their journey.
Some modalities include patient centered therapy, CBT, solution focused therapy, breath work, meditation, mindfulness, expressive arts, body awareness, Jungian principles, and examining family genealogy, dynamics and patterns.
Aurora earned her MA in Counseling Psychology from JFK University in Orinda, CA. Her focus was Marriage, Family and Child therapy specializing in Holistic Health and Body Oriented Psychotherapies and she earned a certificate in Expressive Arts Therapy.
She earned her BS in Biology from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and worked towards her PhD in Biochemistry at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Her eclectic background includes over 20 years as a regulatory affairs professional working in the biopharmaceutical industry. Outside of the biopharmaceutical industry, she carried out advocacy work, counseling providing mental and emotional support, and practical resources to clients and their families.
Originally from San Antonio, Texas, she’s enjoyed a home on Whidbey Island since 2000.
