Kelly is from a little bit of everywhere. Originally from the Midwest, she has happily called the PNW home since 2017, where she feels grounded by the beauty of the ocean, mountains, and towering evergreens. Before becoming a therapist, Kelly was a teacher, where she saw firsthand the need for greater emotional regulation, connection, and healing in our youth today. This experience inspired her to pursue a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Bastyr University, for its emphasis on holistic healing. This emphasis on holistic therapy means Kelly is holding you as a whole person: including the psychological, social, biological, and spiritual factors that shape your unique identity and life experience. Kelly completed her clinical training at the Bastyr Clinic and her practicum at Center for Human Services. She has worked with clients ranging in age from 11 to 80 and welcomes individuals and couples across the lifespan. She is LGBTQ+ affirming, and she especially enjoys working with people who want to heal from past experiences, reconnect with their inner child, and break patterns that may be getting in the way of growth and meaningful change.

As an eclectic counselor, Kelly draws from a variety of therapeutic approaches, choosing what feels most helpful and relevant to each person’s unique healing journey. Her foundation is Person-Centered Therapy, with a focus on creating a warm, supportive space where you can better understand yourself and move toward greater self-awareness, joy, creativity, and fulfillment. Attachment and Psychodynamic theories help to explore how early relationships, defense mechanisms, and long-standing patterns can shape the way we experience ourselves and our relationships today. When working with couples, she incorporates the Gottman Method and relational therapy to help partners strengthen connection, communication, repair trust ruptures, and reach understanding.

For clients working through trauma, Kelly incorporates Internal Family Systems (IFS), a compassionate approach that helps us understand the different parts of ourselves and the ways they may be working hard to protect us from threats that may no longer be present. Through this work, clients can begin to reconnect with their core sense of self and cultivate greater compassion, calmness, curiosity, clarity, confidence, courage, creativity, and connectedness. IFS can feel like a deeply healing meditative journey to hold and meet each part of the self better.

Above all, Kelly believes therapy is a collaborative process. You know yourself better than anyone, and her role is to walk alongside you with curiosity, compassion, and support as you discover what healing and growth can look like for you. Therapy with Kelly can be described as going on a deep dive into yourself and leaving feeling empowered to reach your authentic self and find joy again.
